We have been undertaking an investment and improvement programme at our 12-acre North Yorkshire site. Enhancing the company’s production capacity by 25%.
We have completed a new building, installed new filling and seeding lines, and added a new germination chamber and six new automatic irrigation booms.
These latest investments provide valuable production improvements, greater flexibility, and equipment to enhance automation and efficiency, allowing us to grow and manage more products during the busiest growing period.
In addition, to enable us to continue to support our customers with a swift service, we’ve added two climate-controlled DAF CF 320 18-ton trucks to our delivery fleet.
Our progressive programme of investment, innovation and development means our fast-turnaround service and product offering are tailored to suit our customers’ individual requirements.
Enhancing productivity further, production facilities have seen a £200,000+ investment upgrade in a new CombiFix-II gapping line, which has been specially adapted by the manufacturer to accommodate Earley Ornamentals’ 480 and 360 trays.
To enable us to continue to support our customers with a swift service, we’ve added two climate-controlled DAF CF 320 18-ton trucks to our delivery fleet, now making five in total.
Our customers receive the freshest plants in the best condition, shipped in our temperature-controlled fleet of lorries, wherever possible. Thanks to convenient access to the UK’s motorway network, we can ensure less product deterioration, too. All vehicles have tail-lifts for easy access and Danish trollies are used.
The installation of a biomass heating system means significant environmental fossil fuel energy and CO2 emissions savings, helping us reduce our carbon footprint and maintain stable greenhouse conditions. With outputs of 950kW and 199kW respectively, the biomass boilers heat separate areas of the site’s glasshouses.
