The science behind Earley Ornamentals
Ongoing progressive programme of investment
With an ongoing progressive programme of investment, innovation and development in place, the technology behind our state-of-the-art site is evolving constantly, enabling us to deliver quality plants direct to our customers nationwide.
At our purpose-built 12-acre site in Thirsk, North Yorkshire, our young plants are given the best growing environment in our computer-controlled greenhouses, where temperature, humidity, lighting and venting are managed and monitored throughout the growing process.

Our progressive programme of investment, innovation and development means our fast-turnaround service and product offering are tailored to suit our customers’ individual requirements.
Enhancing productivity further, production facilities have seen a £200,000+ investment upgrade in a new CombiFix-II gapping line, which has been specially adapted by the manufacturer to accommodate Earley Ornamentals’ 480 and 360 trays.

The installation of a biomass heating system means significant environmental fossil fuel energy and CO² emissions savings, helping us reduce our carbon footprint and maintain stable greenhouse conditions. With outputs of 950kW and 199kW respectively, the biomass boilers heat separate areas of the site’s glasshouses.

To enable us to continue to support our customers with a swift service, we’ve added two climate-controlled DAF CF 320 18-ton trucks to our delivery fleet, now making five in total.
Our customers receive the freshest plants in the best condition, shipped in our temperature-controlled fleet of lorries, wherever possible. Thanks to convenient access to the UK’s motorway network, we can ensure less product deterioration, too. All vehicles have tail-lifts for easy access and Danish trollies are used.

Our site and production expansion continue with the introduction of a new seeding line, which is in the process of being completed. This provides even greater control over the quality of our young plants and enhances efficiency further at our purpose-built 12-acre site.
