In response to growing product demand from customers, leading independent UK producer and supplier of young plants, Earley Ornamentals is upgrading its production facility with a £200,000+ investment in a new gapping machine that will contribute to productivity enhancements at the company’s 12-acre site near Thirsk, North Yorkshire.
Delivered in June 2019 as part of an on-going programme of investment, the new CombiFix-II gapping line has been specially adapted by the manufacturer to accommodate Earley Ornamentals’ 480 and 360 trays.
With the technology behind Earley Ornamentals’ state-of-the-art site evolving constantly, managing director Simon Earley explains more: “We are committed to ensuring our customers receive the required gapped-up trays. This investment will ensure that out-dated machinery is replaced and upgraded to meet the demands of our fast-turnaround service.
“The CombiFix-II is one of the best and fastest gapping machines worldwide and for our customers this means trays are optimised with qualified plants that are uniform in terms of plant material and development. This allows us to continue to deliver quality plants and a flexible service tailored to suit each customer’s individual requirements.”
An independent UK producer, Earley Ornamentals offers a wide range of bedding, basket, patio plants and perennials, designed to meet the needs of today’s professional growers.
With expert knowledge and planning support available from the Earley team, the company’s extensive range includes seed raised and cutting raised young plants for all seasons and applications.
